Jewellery — AI imagery and product settings
Worn jewellery imagery and product settings developed with AI from reference photographs. The gallery shows source images alongside generated results.
Jewellery between portrait and still life
An AI imagery study exploring jewellery as worn pieces and as product compositions in different settings. The collection alternates portraits with earrings, necklaces and rings with still-life arrangements of pendants and smaller objects on supports and fabrics. Reference photographs in the gallery show, for selected subjects, the move from an original image to a newly generated setting. The work explores relationships between jewellery, body, pose and surface, alternating the closeness of portraiture with the distance of the product composition. Light, clothing and materials create a different frame for each subject, with attention to composition and the details of the jewellery.
Design objective
The study explores different ways of presenting jewellery, from its relationship with the face and body to compositions on a support. The study addresses the transition between a reference image and a new scene, using framing and setting to change the visual context in which a piece is seen and examined.
The work
The series includes AI-generated portraits with earrings, necklaces and a ring, alongside compositions of rings and pendants on fabrics or supports. Selected original photographs appear together with the generated results. The comparison highlights the role of backgrounds, poses and surfaces in creating a different presentation of each piece of jewellery.
Design rationale
Portraits place jewellery in relation to bodily proportions and gestures, while still-life images focus attention on the object and its outline. Fabrics, clothing and supports create different contrasts with product surfaces. Varying the framing moves attention from the detail of an accessory to its presence within the figure as a whole.
